Google's new browser Chrome is truly awesome. It provides a really clean and simple browser, which maximises the space available for the web page being viewed.
It also provides an 'application mode', where web applications can be run in a full window, without any browser tools. Running j2e in this application mode makes it just like a desktop app, with the whole screen available for your work.
Having been a Firefox user for the last few years, I am now totally bold over by Chrome, after just 3 days!
j2e.com works within Chrome but there are some issues. (It only works on Windows at the moment.)
1. You need to download the latest development version of java for it to run at all!
Here is a link: http://java.com/en/download/beta_6u10.jsp
2. When you make changes on the j2e page, and press the close icon. It just closes. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CHANGES!
To get Google to solve this, we need to move it up the Google bug list.
Follow this link http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/list?can=2&q=java&sort=-stars&colspec=ID+Stars+Pri+Area+Type+Status+Summary+Modified+Owner&x=mstone&y=area&cells=tiles
Then click on the star next to item 580 - Java applet to javascript... (You may have to be signed in to Google to do this)
3. The menus on the main screen show, but do not work! This affects the New document, Add Object and Right Click context menu. You can get some of these menus to work by mousing over your menu selection, then pressing return on the keyboard.
To get Google to solve this, we need to move it up the Google bug list.
Follow the link above, and this time find item 937, and click on the star.
